The series contains articles about the pre-World War 2 Japanese Canadian community; articles about the participation of the Japanese Canadians in festivals such as Dominion Day; an article from 1927 about the role of Japanese Canadians in the fishing and logging industries; an article on the Japanese Canadian community in Ucluelet; an article about the need to preserve pre World War 2 Japanese Canadian history through the creation of oral histories; an article on the role of Japanese Canadian policemen; an article on Yotaro Kosako's cook book and conversational guide for Japanese Canadians; a series of documents held by the police in 1921 pertaining to the Canadian Japanese Association; a list of pre-World War 2 Powell Street business; and articles on Japanese Canadian veterans from World War 1, the Japanese Lodging House Association, the Japanese Barbers' Association of Vancouver, and Japanese Canadian businesses.
